For their new home, Mike and Cathy wanted the kitchen to be the focal point. They wanted to achieve this by designing a kitchen with a large island (with plenty of seating), and an impressive stove section (large hood with a great tile mosaic on the wall). We selected a classic raised panel door style and made the perimeter sections of the kitchens a painted maple and the island and bar, a darker stained cherry. Both of these selections provide a great contrast to the red birch flooring. To give the island a little more interest, we added feet and a bit of moulding to the bottom of it.
